La presente norma fa parte della serie IEC/EN 60745 riguardante la sicurezza degli utensili elettrici a motore portatili ed in particolare si occupa delle seghe a catena.
La Norma si applica alle seghe a catena destinate al taglio del legno progettate per il monouso (uso da parte di un solo operatore).
La Norma non si applica invece alle seghe a catena con un piano-guida e con una lama divisoria.
Non si applica neppure a seghe dotate di supporto oppure usate come apparecchi fissi o trasportabili.
La Norma non è applicabile alle seghe a catena usate per sfrondare gli alberi, per le seghe ad asta e per le potatrici.
Le seghe a catena previste dalla presente norma sono progettate per essere fatte funzionare solo impugnando con la mano destra la maniglia posteriore e con la sinistra quella anteriore.
La presente edizione tratta anche gli aspetti relativi al rumore, alle vibrazioni ed alle loro misurazioni. (Cap. 6)
Questa norma deve essere usata congiuntamente alla EN 60745-1:2006.
Questa Norma viene pubblicata dal CEI nella sola lingua inglese in quanto particolarmente mirata a settori specialistici.

ICS

International Classification for Standards (ICS) is an international classification system for technical standards.

The ICS is a hierarchical classification organized on three levels.

Level 1 covers the main fields of activity in standardization, e.g. road vehicle engineering, agriculture, metallurgy.

Each field has a two-digit notation, e.g.

  43    Road Vehicle Engineering

The main fields are subdivided into groups (level 2). The notation of a group consists of the field notation and a three-digit group number, separated by a point, e.g.

  43.040    Road vehicle systems

Some groups are further divided into sub-groups (level 3). The notation of a sub-group consists of the group notation and a two-digit number, separated by a point, e.g.

  43.040.20 Lighting, signaling and warning devices
