La presente Norma si applica alle apparecchiature per la tecnologia dell’informazione (ITE), comprese le apparecchiature elettriche per ufficio e gli apparecchi associati, alimentate da rete o da batteria con tensione nominale non superiore a 600 V. Si applica anche ai dispositivi per la tecnologia dell'informazione quali: terminali ed infrastrutture di telecomunicazione, apparati collegati ed infrastrutture per sistemi di distribuzione via cavo, apparecchiature che usano la rete in c.a. come mezzo di trasmissione.
La Norma specifica le prescrizioni di sicurezza previste per ridurre i rischi d’incendio, di scossa elettrica e di lesioni per l’operatore o per i non addetti che possono venire a contatto.
La Norma ha lo scopo di ridurre tali rischi con riferimento ad apparecchiature installate, costituite da un sistema di unità interconnesse o da unità indipendenti, purché installazione, utilizzo, manutenzione ed assistenza tecnica siano conformi a quanto prescritto dal costruttore.

ICS

International Classification for Standards (ICS) is an international classification system for technical standards.

The ICS is a hierarchical classification organized on three levels.

Level 1 covers the main fields of activity in standardization, e.g. road vehicle engineering, agriculture, metallurgy.

Each field has a two-digit notation, e.g.

  43    Road Vehicle Engineering

The main fields are subdivided into groups (level 2). The notation of a group consists of the field notation and a three-digit group number, separated by a point, e.g.

  43.040    Road vehicle systems

Some groups are further divided into sub-groups (level 3). The notation of a sub-group consists of the group notation and a two-digit number, separated by a point, e.g.

  43.040.20 Lighting, signaling and warning devices

Search also in the summary/description of the standard
