La presente Norma si occupa delle prescrizioni di sicurezza delle pompe di calore elettriche, comprese quelle per la produzione di acqua calda sanitaria, dei condizionatori d'aria e dei deumidificatori che incorporano motocompressori e ventilconvettori idrogeni, la cui tensione nominale non è superiore a 250 V per gli apparecchi monofase e non superiore a 600 V per gli altri apparecchi. Gli apparecchi sopra menzionati possono essere costituiti da una o più unità separate fornite dal costruttore le quali devono essere utilizzate congiuntamente. La presente Norma non prende in considerazione i refrigeranti diversi da quelli del Gruppo A1, A2L, A2 e A3, come definiti dalla classificazione della Pubblicazione ISO 817; i refrigeranti A2L sono limitati ad una massa molare superiore o uguale a 42 kg/Kmol in base alle indicazioni WFC (Worst Case Formulation). I riscaldatori supplementari, o una disposizione per la loro installazione separata, rientrano nell'ambito del campo di applicazione della presente Norma. La presente Norma supera completamente la Norma CEI EN 60335-2-40:2005-06 che rimane applicabile fino al 01-03-2026. Questa Norma viene pubblicata dal CEI nella sola lingua inglese in quanto particolarmente mirata a settori specialistici. ICS

International Classification for Standards (ICS) is an international classification system for technical standards.

The ICS is a hierarchical classification organized on three levels.

Level 1 covers the main fields of activity in standardization, e.g. road vehicle engineering, agriculture, metallurgy.

Each field has a two-digit notation, e.g.

The main fields are subdivided into groups (level 2). The notation of a group consists of the field notation and a three-digit group number, separated by a point, e.g.

Some groups are further divided into sub-groups (level 3). The notation of a sub-group consists of the group notation and a two-digit number, separated by a point, e.g.
