Il documento definisce un sistema per fornire potenza che copre tutti gli elementi di un sistema USB, includendo: apparati (host), dispositivi, ripartitori (hub), caricabatterie e cavi. Questa Norma descrive l'architettura, i protocolli, il comportamento dell'alimentatore, i connettori ed il cablaggio necessari per gestire l'erogazione di potenza tramite USB fino a 100 W. Questa specifica è pensata per essere pienamente compatibile ed ampliare l'infrastruttura USB esistente. È inteso che consentirà agli OEM del sistema, agli sviluppatori dell'alimentatore e delle periferiche un'adeguata flessibilità per la versatilità del prodotto e la differenziazione del mercato senza perdere la retro-compatibilità. La fornitura di potenza tramite USB (USB Power Delivery) è progettata per funzionare indipendentemente dai meccanismi definiti dal bus USB esistente utilizzati per negoziare la potenza, che sono:
- [USB 2.0], [USB 3.1] richieste di banda per interfacce ad alta potenza;
- meccanismi [USBBC 1.2] per fornire maggiore potenza (non obbligatori per questa specifica);
- meccanismi [USB Tipo-C 1.2] per fornire maggiore potenza.
La Norma in oggetto sostituisce completamente la Norma CEI EN 62680-1-2:2017-10, che rimane applicabile fino al 27-10-2020.
Questa Norma viene pubblicata dal CEI nella sola lingua inglese in quanto particolarmente mirata a settori specialistici.
La presente Norma recepisce il testo originale inglese della Pubblicazione IEC.

La presente Norma é annullata e sostituita dalla Nuova edizione, CEI EN 62680-1-2:2018-09 (CEI 100-245), tuttavia rimane applicabile fino al 17-05-2021.

ICS

International Classification for Standards (ICS) is an international classification system for technical standards.

The ICS is a hierarchical classification organized on three levels.

Level 1 covers the main fields of activity in standardization, e.g. road vehicle engineering, agriculture, metallurgy.

Each field has a two-digit notation, e.g.

  43    Road Vehicle Engineering

The main fields are subdivided into groups (level 2). The notation of a group consists of the field notation and a three-digit group number, separated by a point, e.g.

  43.040    Road vehicle systems

Some groups are further divided into sub-groups (level 3). The notation of a sub-group consists of the group notation and a two-digit number, separated by a point, e.g.

  43.040.20 Lighting, signaling and warning devices

Search also in the summary/description of the standard
