La Norma riguarda i cavi non schermati, caratterizzati fino a 250 MHz, destinati al cablaggio di piano e per dorsale di edificio, come definito nella EN 50173. Essa contiene le caratteristiche prestazionali, elettriche, meccaniche, trasmissive e ambientali dei cavi trattati, quando essi sono collaudati secondo i metodi di prova descritti. La Norma, che deve essere utilizzata congiuntamente alla EN 50288-1 contenente le disposizioni essenziali per la sua applicazione, riguarda cavi che operano con tensioni e correnti normalmente riscontrate nei sistemi di comunicazione. In altri termini questi cavi non sono da utilizzare con sorgenti a bassa impedenza, quali quelle che si trovano nell'ambito della fornitura di potenza elettrica per pubblica utilità.
Questa edizione annulla e sostituisce la precedente CEI EN 50288-6-1:2004-07 che rimane applicabile fino al 18-03-2016 e rispetto alla quale aggiunge un Allegato riguardante la specifica di dettaglio in bianco, riclassifica la misura "ELFEXT" in "ACR-F" e corregge altri aspetti di minore importanza.
La Norma copre infine gli elementi principali degli obiettivi di sicurezza per apparati elettrici progettati per un loro utilizzo entro determinati limiti di tensione (Direttiva LVD - 2006/95/EC).
La presente Norma riporta il testo in inglese e italiano della EN 50288-6-1; rispetto al precedente fascicolo n. 13279E di gennaio 2014, essa contiene la traduzione completa della EN sopra indicata.

ICS

International Classification for Standards (ICS) is an international classification system for technical standards.

The ICS is a hierarchical classification organized on three levels.

Level 1 covers the main fields of activity in standardization, e.g. road vehicle engineering, agriculture, metallurgy.

Each field has a two-digit notation, e.g.

  43    Road Vehicle Engineering

The main fields are subdivided into groups (level 2). The notation of a group consists of the field notation and a three-digit group number, separated by a point, e.g.

  43.040    Road vehicle systems

Some groups are further divided into sub-groups (level 3). The notation of a sub-group consists of the group notation and a two-digit number, separated by a point, e.g.

  43.040.20 Lighting, signaling and warning devices
